About Studio L’amour

Studio L’amour opened officially in June of 2008 in response to the overwhelming call for Michelle L’amour to open her own burlesque instruction school. She had been teaching The L’amour Method for many years across the globe (at festivals, workshops, and shows) and offers classes from basic to advanced level instruction.

She opened the space as an invitingly sexy home for her students…a place where sensuality is explored through dance, confidence and social experiences.

Located at 4001 N Ravenswood Suite 205, Studio L’amour stands as a welcoming oasis for women of all ages, shapes and professions.

About the Instructors

Lady Ginger

Lady Ginger, “The Baroness of Bump,” is a proud member of Michelle L’amour’s internationally acclaimed Burlesque troupe, The Chicago Starlets (World’s Best Burlesque Troupe 2010, The Burlesque Hall of Fame). She wandered into one of Michelle L’amour’s Burlesque classes 7 years ago, and was hooked within 10 minutes. She has been a full company member for approximately 5 years. Lady Ginger has not only performed on numerous stages throughout the City of Chicago (Music Box Theatre, The Metro, Park West, Mayne Stage, Bottom Lounge), but throughout the United States as well (Ohio, Iowa, Texas, New Orleans, Las Vegas, San Francisco, New York, etc.), and internationally (Toronto). What initially drew Lady Ginger to Burlesque, and the reason she loves to study, teach, and perform, is how strong, confident, and sexy it makes her feel….and how much FUN it is! Ginger has had the honor of seeing women she’s taught continue on as performers themselves, and she wants all of her students (whether they perform or not) to feel that they are strong, beautiful, and sexy women. Lily Bloom

LilyBritish-born Lily Bloom, ‘The Scone You’ll Want to Take Home’, has been dancing with the Chicago Starlets for over 5 years. She has performed with the troupe all over the U.S. including at the Burlesque Hall of Fame, Best of Midwest Burlesk Festival, and the New Orleans Burlesque Festival. With a background in gymnastics and dance, she was immediately drawn to the spectacle of burlesque performance and enchanted by the creativity of cabaret. Her favorite acts to perform are “a good old cheeky strip tease”. Of teaching, she says “The best part of teaching at Studio L’amour is meeting so many fantastic, strong women, and watching their inner bombshells emerge as the session progresses. I love it.” Learn more about Lily Bloom here.

Charlie Scarlet

Charlie Scarlet came to burlesque in her 30’s, after many years as a contemporary concert dancer. She has grown immensely in her three years as a Chicago Starlet, performing throughout the Midwest with the Chicago Starlets, the Chorus Girl Plays, in music videos, and as a soloist. Charlie has enjoyed being a model for photographers and Dr. Sketchy’s anti-art school. She is currently cooking up a video series called “So, You’ve Got No Game” for everyone who gets awkward around a crush. She might be the only burlesque gal with a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, making her a real “knockout”!
