Studio L’amour opened officially in June of 2008 in response to the overwhelming call for Michelle L’amour to open her own burlesque instruction school. She had been teaching The L’amour Method for four years across the globe (at festivals, workshops, and shows) and finally took the leap to open her own brick and mortar facility.
She opened the space as an invitingly sexy home for her students…a place where sensuality is explored through dance, confidence and social experiences.
Located in the heart of The SHOOP (The SHadow Of OPrah – West Loop Gate adjacent to Harpo Studios), Studio L’amour stands as a welcoming oasis for women of all walks of life.
About Michelle L’amour
Michelle L’amour (Miss Exotic World 2005) has made her name internationally over the last six years as an award winning burlesque performer seen by millions of theater and television audiences. As an instructor, she’s taught over 2500 women through her workshops and classes. In 2008, L’amour released a successful instructional DVD series called “Tools of the Tease” that are available through her website . Whether tearing up the stage and small screen, or being featured in “Women’s Health” and as an instructor for the Berman Center, Michelle L’amour is bridging the gap for thousands of women who want to know how to feel and be sexy.

Vivian Velvet: Basic Burlesque and Bachelorette Parties
A burlesque performer since 2005, Vivian Velvet is a member of the Chicago Starlets and has performed all over Chicago and across the country. She has appeared at the New York Burlesque Festival, San Francisco’s Tease-O-Rama, and most notably at the Miss Exotic World Pageant, the Burlesque Hall of Fame’s international burlesque competition in Las Vegas. Her passion for burlesque stems from a lifelong love of dance, vintage fashion, pin-up art, and costume design. Ms. Velvet believes that burlesque is a celebration of a woman’s sensuality. She truly enjoys seeing her students have fun, increase their fitness, and gain the confidence and excitement that comes from loving your body and knowing how to use it! Lady Ginger: Basic Burlesque and Bachelorette Parties
Lady Ginger is a proud member of Michelle L’amour’s internationally acclaimed burlesque company, The Chicago Starlets. She became a full member of the company just over a year ago and, with Michelle’s help and guidance, has had the opportunity to perform not only throughout Chicago and the U.S., but internationally at the Toronto Burlesque Festival. Who could’ve predicted it? Ms. Ginger took her first burlesque class with L’amour approximately 3 years ago, and was hooked on the art of tease in about 10 minutes! What initially drew her to it, and the reason she continues to study burlesque and perform, is how strong, confident, and sexy it makes her feel . . . and how much FUN it is!
